Visiting Windfall & a travelling camel

After I blogged yesterday, I finally arranged to meet with Jasper, a friend I met via Club Tortimer! He came to Miagen first to meet my townsfolk and drop off a couple of things (thinking back on it, I sure wasn't very hospitable... what was I doing?) but then we went to his town, Windfall. It's a VERY cool town.

This is a little segment by the fountain that's below his house. How can it be possible that we started our games at about the same time, yet his town is so much more developed? :o Madness!

We went to his house, too, and it was just as incredible! He's got a full set of rooms, so he was able to get the modern home framework for the exterior of his house. I chose to fully expand my upstairs before adding more rooms, so we're at similar stages of the house expansion process, at least. ;) I also felt it necessary to take a picture of his arcade/Nintendo room. I'm surprised at how much STUFF he's managed to accumulate so far -- I mean, no offense to my neighbours, but what they give me is junk compared to this stuff!

And when we visited his Main Street, I noticed that his museum was on the wrong side! (Well, probably not wrong for him, but since I've only seen museums on the right, it seemed wrong for me!) D'awww, the museum looks cozier on the left, though, since the holding pond is all nestled in between the museum and the wall... :) Then I had to leave for dinner, but thanks Jasper for the awesome WiFi! 'Twas so fun to see your lovely town and house! ^ ^

Now, onto today, during which a certain travelling camel visited my town. :D

She's certainly a funny lady, what with all that deadpan humour of hers. ;)

She does offer quite a deal, too -- for 3 000 Bells per character, she gave their front room a new flooring and wallpaper makeover! Usually, she uses at least one of her own exclusive wares to decorate, as well, however...

...This happened. Gee, Saharah, how did you know that I hate pink? >_< But I guess my house kind of deserved that one, 'cause it did sorta look like a party threw up on it. (It also gave me a heads-up that it was time to give my poor house a much-needed clean up of all the mumbo-jumbo I'd thrown in there throughout the course of the game so far...) Needless to say, I still haven't touched the wallpaper and the only things in the room now belong to the throne ensemble.

Hey, speaking of the throne...

OMG. . _ . 800 000 Bells?! I got mine for FREE from Bluebear... Scratch what I said earlier about my townsfolk only giving me junk. Thanks, Bluebear -- you saved me almost a million Bells! :D

Oh, wait, this is from Tuesday. o.O Another 3DS screenshot that I forgot about. I like this one because, while I originally fell in a pitfall and Drift freaked out, it looks like I'm doing a ground-pound or something here. And Drift's expression. xD

Following the subject of Drift, he suggested we roar together today like Kid Cat did when I went to Shantaki! ...Except his was lame and not funny at all. I expected higher of you, Drift.

Also, it has been announced that Lucha will be the first villager to move out of Miagen. Truth be told, he'd been getting a little creepy towards my mayor character as of late, so I'm not too sad to see him go. O.o As you can tell by the catchphrase. (By the way, I did NOT tell him to say that; he stole it from Bluebear!)

YES, PLEASE, CALL ME SCAT. This cracked me up. I had completely forgotten about this awful nickname ever since Molly asked Saffron if she could call her S-cat. I only accepted because it was Molly... But you know what? Why not. Heck, the whole village can call her Scat.

Better late than never, as they say. But not when you're a second-rate silver slingshot. Sorry, but you're going to one of my other characters, tool.

Deep in dreamland, for the most part

But first, Monday night. I was delivering some island beetles to the Re-Tail, as per my usual nightly Bell regime, and THANK GOODNESS I had my slingshot on me!

'Cause this thing appeared! Apparently, I was so shocked, I forgot to take a picture of the "I got a... !" part. So I had to take a less awesome picture afterward. D: It's the golden slingshot! No preamble, either -- no silver slingshot first, no nothing. I didn't even think I'd shot down many balloons, even!

Yesterday, I was doing my morning rounds, and since the ore rock always regenerates into a random spot every day, it usually makes itself pretty obvious. But not usually THIS obvious. See, it's kind of an inside joke between me and my sister, because we always accuse the ore rock of trying to hide from us, so it's funny when it appears right in plain view. xD

Oh, and Micah met Cyrus for the first time. :s He spent 80% of the encounter threatening Micah, poor guy. Well, at least now he can refurnish his stuff.

But now, onto the main focus of my post: I've started making use of the Dream Suite to visit randoms, and let me tell you, it really makes Miagen feel like a stick in the mud to me, seeing all these wonderfully developed towns. >_<

Like, for instance, this Japanese person from the first town I visited had all four rooms (though each only on their first expansion), an upstairs, and a basement. And while the entire house is coated in minimalist wallpaper, flooring, and various objects in the series (plus some other random things, like the TV), the whole house just has a comfortable, homey feel to it. Even though it may seem empty, it doesn't feel empty at all, and I'd leave it just as it is. I guess this really must be the minimalist approach.

In contrast, we have another beautiful house. ^ ^ Except this house is as busy as the other one was simple. Extravagance, everywhere! I'm not saying I like this any less -- in fact, if someone can make a cowhide rug look good, then they must be doing something right. I'm just surprised at how many different styles of interior design there are out there! :O (But the thing about extravagant interior designs are that there's so much more furniture to be jealous of!)

The extravagant sweets house had a lovely basement, as well! I had to jam out on every instrument before I left there, because this was the cutest little music room. <3

On a completely unrelated note, a couple of hours ago, I took this picture. Why does everything always make moms seem so uncool? Because I love my mom and she's pretty cool, actually. :) (And unfortunately, this means the "mom" in the game sounds nothing like my mom... Why again does Nintendo insist on making your character have virtual parents?)

An obligatory post xD

I forgot to take a picture of this screenshot I took on my 3DS on Saturday, since I couldn't get to my phone fast enough (and I don't usually take screenshots, so I kinda forgot about it.)

LOL! I was going to take a picture anyway, to show what I've done with each neighbour's house in order to get hybrids, when Charlise fell into a pitfall in the background! I don't think I've ever seen anyone fall into a pitfall before, actually! xD

Yesterday wasn't too eventful, though I did add another character -- Saffron! I needed a second female character because a) there are too many girl clothes that I like in this game to be worn by only my mayor character, b) I want to experiment with long hairstyles on someone (because my hair is short and there's only one style that looks like it...) and c) I need a character's house that can dedicate every room (minus the basement) to being a restaurant. :)

Oh, and then this happened. It was honestly the scariest moment ever. I almost didn't catch it because it nearly succeeded in attacking me. Plus, IT HISSED. I hope I never have to go through such a traumatizing ordeal ever again.

This morning, I was town roaming, and when I passed my lovely heart-patterned stump, there was a MUSHROOM beside it! A flat mushroom. I thought those things only appeared in the fall, but apparently these patterned stumps are magical. I'm just going to hang on to this mushroom for now, because I don't really know what to do with it.

Later today, I went to Bluebear's house, because it was her birthday! ^ ^

I love the way they've done birthdays in New Leaf, because the whole house is decorated with a cake, a sign, a balloon, and even K.K. Birthday playing festively in the background! :D

By the way, I only just noticed today how much I've tanned. o.O I think it's time to bust out the umbrella when I'm in the sun for too long in hopes of losing a bit of this tan. I only don't want to get too dark because my mayor character is supposed to look like me, and I'm really pale and don't tan easily. :s I'd prefer for Micah to get darker -- something like Latino would be a good race for him, I think. c:

Mostly a lot of landscaping (and the Summer Solstice)

Yes, there certainly was a lot of landscaping. And during some clear-cutting, I found a heart-patterned stump! Of course, I left it there since apparently cool stump designs grow mushrooms around them in the fall. Or so I've heard. But anyway, I'm constructing a flower path around my town to lead to all the major attractions (Re-Tail, Town Hall, Mayor's House, etc.) so I've been taking a LOT of gardening tours for all the violets. ;)

Micah finally got his wetsuit. xD I kind of like that picture, actually -- I used the sports setting on my phone and it blurred the background, but kept the subject stagnant. Which is nice. :3

I also got two more badges with my mayor character. I'm a little surprised my sister got the Village Representative one before me; it seems my light's always red before hers!

Then, of course, being the Summer Solstice and all, I had to take a picture with my face in the photo board. :) I really should've had Ryann over to fill in the empty sun, because it looks sorta pathetic with just me in there. Bruce was hanging around earlier -- why didn't you take the other spot, Bruce?

THE CATALOG. IS. HERE. It's an organized little red station in the corner of the T&T Mart (which stocks TWO fortune cookies -- I'll never be able to keep up with Play Coins!) Kicks actually moved in the day after this (took him 3 days) and I bought some lovely new orange sandals and black leggings! :D

I woke up this morning and came outside, and who should be standing there, but the very comedian I'd been waiting for!

I was able to get Dr. Shrunk's signatures and allow him to start Club LOL before lunchtime! THIS MEANS K.K.

Aaaand I had the ceremony for the Dream Suite that I couldn't have yesterday due to the Solstice. It's almost like I'm being welcomed as mayor all over again!

Sometimes snooping pays off!!! When I looked in her dresser, it said that I found a dusty old large bookcase. (How one of those would fit in that tiny little bureau, I wouldn't know...) But then, Blanche got mad at me for snooping (apparently) and then randomly gave me the large bookcase that I found. I was like, OMG, because Molly (I think) has this thing in her house and it is absolutely PERFECT for my planned Rococo room! So into the room it went; now I have a sofa and a bookcase. c: Making progress.

Yet ANOTHER overdue post...

Squeeeee! How exciting! I've been waiting for this! I FREAKED when I saw this notification on the 19th. I was going to do a math exam that day, so nothing seemed optimistic, but then... :)

And then, DOUBLE WHAMMY! Kicks is also moving in! OMG! I'm so excited for shoes and socks, it's not even funny! My brown slip-ons (Micah) and pink slip-ons (Cassidy) are getting real old. Even though my mayor character also has Samus boots. xD

Later on, I was talking to Lucha and he said this. I just think it's kinda funny -- I like taking pics of things that villagers say, because some of it is really well scripted. ;)

So, these pictures just detail some more stuff I've been up to over the past few days -- cheating the balloon system by popping balloons with my net when they dip down over the cliffs, breeding hybrids <3, finding some neighbours' lost items (always in the same place, too... coincidence?) and sitting on the bench watching all the rain I've been getting with my aqua polka umbrella. :)

Oh, and...

I GOT A WETSUIT. <3 And it's a red one! I'd never seen one like it before! However, I'm giving it to my other player, Micah, who looks better in red than my mayor character. ;) I'm hoping for a blue or white one for Cassidy. (And/or one that looks a little more feminine?) Until then, though, I'm stealing Micah's wetsuit, because she likes to swim, too. >:)

I've also been working a lot with the landscaping around my house. The theme I have in mind for my own house is rustic, almost medieval-ish. It's like the feel of the original town Miagen from Dragon Warrior Monsters 2. I've planted for hibiscus bushes in front of it and an entire garden of violets behind it. Then there's a stump and a fruit orchard in front of it. (There's also a path to the beach just to the left.) I know it's a little difficult to see in the pictures, but hopefully I'll be getting more shots of my house as it progresses. ^ ^

Ugh, and with all the rain there's been, I've had lots of snaily friends visiting my vegetation. x)

Earlier today, my sister was a dear and gave me a wrapped present. I wondered what it could be because she seemed pretty excited about it. I opened it to find...

A ROCOCO SOFA!!! :D

See, my sister and I bought the game guide, so I had been looking at this Rococo series for my house for a while. But since apparently they're all spotlight items, I figured it would be a while before I got any items. However, and I don't know where Ryann got it, but now I have officially started collecting my dream series and I can't wait to see the finished collection! <3
